Last Wedding of the year, first blog post ever!

So, here goes …...

Denny got in touch after being recommended by a friend and we hit it off immediately. Now, I always try to meet up with couples before booking, I think that can be really overlooked. You are going to spend a good amount of your day with your Wedding Photographer and you need to know they are going to fit in with you and your guests. Despite my advice about having a meetup, Denny booked straight away proceeding to tell me about all the secret plans, she had for Duncan and her big day. “Don't tell Duncan, he thinks it's going to be low key,” said Denny giving me the low down about the Bag Piper, singer, makeup artist (the fabulous and highly recommended Michelle G) and fireworks she had booked. You get the gist, Denny is an all in kind of lady and I love that!

These pair and their guests were awesome on the day! Braving the Worcestershire November cold to get some outdoor photography on the golf course, grounds and feature bridge at The Abbey Hotel, Golf and Spa. An amazing performance by Piper Mckay the bagpiper, room styling by Sarah of VIP Functions and Flowers, beautiful flowers from Libby Belles and some stellar cake magic courtesy of Alison at Cake Ice all contributed to an amazing day. Finished off in style by Shockwave Pyrotechnics with some quality fireworks.

Duncan's son Robert put in an inspiring best man's speech, full of emotion and respect for Denny and his Dad. Along with the usual anecdotes of which I'll save Duncan from any further embarrassment by not repeating here. I have to say, though, a couple of choice photographs were revealed during the other two best men’s speech to many of the guests amusement! However, one story that needs to be told is of Duncan's proposal, a standout for me. On a relaxing holiday cruise, Duncan was having a moment out on the deck and decided if he saw dolphins at that exact moment he was going to propose to Denny. Well, Neptune was listening, out of the waves dolphins and Duncan had to get down to business. Being a bit of a charmer, he had the Captain announce it and the rest is history. You can't make that up and it just sums up these two, for me, meant to be together!

Thanks for having me to capture your day and here are a few images that tell the story.
