Jessica and Dan's Wedding - The Abbey Hotel, Redditch, Worcestershire

Bride and groom kissing on a wooden bridge in golden hour light

Jessica And Dan’s Good Friday Wedding.

The weather for Jess and Dan’s big day was absolutely cracking. The venue was looking amazing in the baking hot sun and blue skies and I knew this was going to be a great day. Jess had six bridesmaids and three flower girls, so when I arrived up to the room for bridal prep the ladies from The Hair and Beauty Studio and Beauty By Shan were in full swing. Tunes were on, the Prosecco was flowing and when the ladies were done the bride tribe was looking awesome and ready to go!

Stacey, Nicole and the team from The Abbey Hotel had done an awesome job getting the room ready for the happy couple with all the decor in place and looking classy. I love the way everyone’s Wedding is a little unique and Jess and Dan’s was no exception. Jess walked down the aisle arm in arm with her Dad, whilst he carried Jess and Dan’s little girl Emberly, a lovely touch. In the ceremony room, the guys had a table setup up in memory of some of the family who couldn’t be with them to celebrate their special day. Couples who’ve lost family members always have such beautiful ways to bring those people to the day.

Now Jess and her brother Keiran had a little surprise in store for Keiran’s partner Nicky. Keiran had decided to propose and Jess had the perfect setup. In the evening we gathered all the ladies outside for Jess to throw her stunning Wedding bouquet, provided by the guys over at The Flower Centre. We gave a quick count down and on three, instead of throwing the beautiful bridal bouquet, the Bride handed it to Nicky, turned her round to see Keiran behind the group of ladies on one knee, ring in hand, and of course she said yes. Love it ❤️

The evening was finished off in style by the one and only Laurence, head honcho of TLC Entertainment. Don’t underestimate the importance of having an awesome DJ to how good your evening reception will be. A DJ isn’t only about playing the songs you like and sticking to playlists but playing what your party needs to get the room moving. Laurence is a class act and loves a good bit of banter with the crowd to get the party started. As with all your wedding suppliers, it’s important to choose someone who fits with you but to also let them do their job.

All in all a great day at the Abbey Hotel. Professional polish and service by Nicole, Stacey and the team, top grub and if you’re looking for a venue with a Hotel style but the exclusivity of being away from the rest of the venue the Abbey is definitely one to check out.
