Maria & Kevin’s Wedding.
I met Maria and Kevin through a colleague of mine who knows I love a quirky, interesting venue. The happy couple had decided on an intimate wedding with very close family and friends at the Abbey Pumping Station in Leicester. The Pumping Station is a museum of science and technology that opens it’s beautiful doors and unique grounds to couples looking for somewhere to tie the knot. Leicester Council runs a few really nice venues for couples to hold their ceremonies and are definitely worth checking out if you’re local. The Pumping Stations didn’t disappoint with some beautiful gardens outside to the fabulous machinery set pieces staged around the grounds.
Maria and her family come from Peru, her Father, Mother and friends had flown over for the Wedding. During the ceremony, held in between the amazing Victorian beam engines of the Pump House, Kevin’s son, Daniel, had set up an iPhone to live stream the Ceremony to family and friends in Peru who couldn’t attend. The couple said their official vows followed by some romantic words of their writing and tied the knot in front of their close family and friends. Hector, Maria’s Father, kept me on task getting images of all the machinery, “No one will believe me at home you can get married somewhere like this!” An impromptu first dance upstairs followed up with parents, children and guests alike joining in.
From one unique venue onto another, the amazing Middletons Steakhouse set in an old bank in the heart of Leicester. The couple, family and friends conducted some great, heartfelt speeches on the upstairs mezzanine floor and photography for the day was done.
The Wedding photography I advertise always comes as a standard package price. Now and then couples are looking for something tailored to a more low-key or intimate day. If that’s you don’t be afraid to get in touch with suppliers you’re looking at hiring and tell them about your plans. This was an ace Wedding! The couple wanted a record of the main parts and then enjoy the rest of their day with the important people in their lives. I’m glad of the opportunity to help them out with that.
Best wishes guys!
